Hand-colored photograph

This was in an intimate, small round temple near the coast dedicated to the Life of Buddha
The interior walls were a remarkable mix of beautifully painted murals on the curved walls and three dimensional dioramas and free standing sculptures depicting various stages in the life of Buddha.
This Panel depicts the time when
Prince Siduhat (Siddhartha) left his wife, newborn son
and the life at the Palace in search of the Truth,
to end the suffering and to eventually become Buddha.
He changed his clothes to a simple robe.
He cut his hair and threw the hair in the air
stating that he will find The Truth of Life to end the suffering.

The Gods who were watching him from heaven,
caught the hair and built a “Stupa” (Temple) in heaven
as a symbol of Seeking the Truth of Life.
This Stupa is called “Silumini Seya”.
The figures around the Stupa with clasped hands
are the Gods from Heaven Praising the Great Mystery of Life.

The signed prints are made by the artist with archival pigment ink on museum paper or canvas.

The designated sizes are measured edge to edge of the printed image. There is approximately a 1” border added, all the way around the images, printed on Fine Art paper, to accommodate the title & signature and room for mat edge.
