I just had bought a beautiful old 4 by 5 Graflex camera from Manuel Bravo’s assistant it used to be his (Manuel Bravo is was Mexico’s equivalent to Edward Weston).
As I held it in my hands, I began thinking of what project I could do with this old-timey classic camera that gave me a nice four by five negative.
The signed prints are made by the artist with archival pigment ink on museum paper or canvas
There is approximately a 1” border all the way around the images printed on museum paper, to accommodate the title & signature and room for mat edge.
Each piece includes the story and the inspiration behind the image.
The suggested frame sizes indicated are a general rule of thumb and not set in stone.
The framed pieces that are offered are part of the Chasing the Light show here in Taos, New Mexico
A word about frames:
I have chosen the frame for each piece carefully with the goal of choosing a frame that complements the whole piece.
The measurements are made by the actual size of the piece when it is settled into the frame. Hence, some frames range from 1” to 2.5” wide, depending on the frame, the footprint is wider than the measurement.
There are no cheap black or metal frames in my studio or anywhere else connected with my prints.
My unique frames come from Franken Frames in Tennessee. I have been a satisfied customer for many years. The artwork is expertly settled into the frames locally at Creative Framing here in Taos, Jim Cox and his staff have done excellent and timely work.
